Community Help For migrant workers : From food to footwear on NH44
Community Help for migrant workers: From food to footwear on NH44

Dear Friends and Indians...
Some of you already reached out to offer help so posting here for others to see if they are interested.
As we know migrants in India are very badly impacted due to lockdown with no job and food for little children, women, and Men ( Young and Old).
Recently we came across a voluntary local group ( Full of local teachers and local people) that is serving 3000 people a day who are moving towards
Maharashtra( NH-44 at Perkit junction - Rajeshwar Battu, GangaReddy A)
Every two mins a truck is going with hundreds of people in 45c heat so there are a lot more can be fed with your little support.
Some of them haven't eaten for days and some eat little to preserve food for the further journey which is quite sad.
Food is prepared close by and they are providing 3 chapatis, curry, buttermilk and water.
It costs 20-25 Rs so even a 50p from us will fill two empty stomachs.
This initiative is led by great-granddaughter (Pingali Chaitanya) of Our own Pingali Venkaiah who designed our beautiful Indian flag.
Her team working at Medchal.
We know that most of us contributed to various causes but it is never enough in this sad world now, given the plight of immigrants in the heat anything we can help to drive this initiative would be wonderful.
This is for migrant laborers crossing states by walk, some women are pregnant and walking kms.. Telangana NH44 is connecting Nizamabad and Armoor towards Maharastra.
We are extending the capacity as other contributors approaching our food centers
Four teams have been spread between 50-60 km stretch to distribute the food.
Perkid -- serving 3000 people
Indalvayi -- serving 1000 people
Mupkal -- service 500 people
Pochampad -- serving 500 people
Thanks to all those of have contributed.
